Horticultural Growers’ Short Course

In partnership with the BC Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Lower Mainland Horticultural Improvement Association organizes the annual Horticultural Growers’ Short Course. Formed in 1958, LMHIA is a not-for-profit organization that provides educational programs for its members. The first Growers’ Short Course was presented in 1958 and it has enjoyed partnership with the Pacific Agriculture Show since 1998. LMHIA is governed by a Board of Directors representing horticulture commodities, with assistance from contract personnel and from BC Ministry of Agriculture staff.
LMHIA also supports agriculture research projects which benefit farmers/producers on the Lower Mainland. LMHIA administers a pesticide certificate re-certification program for its members.
